Disclosures

General Disclosures

  • Estimates are calculated using the lowest available rates from participating credit union lenders, including any applicable discounts for automatic payments. Full rate details, terms, repayment examples, and disclosures are available through the credit unions’ websites linked in the search results.
  • Our marketplace helps you explore potential loan options, but it isn’t a loan offer or guarantee. Your actual rate and payment amount will depend on the terms you qualify for if you decide to apply. The information and calculations provided are for educational use only - not financial advice. We recommend speaking with your credit union or financial advisor before making a decision.
  • Before applying for a loan, you’ll need to choose a credit union to borrow from. You don’t have to be a member to apply, but you’ll need to join that credit union before any funds can be disbursed. Make sure you pick one you’re eligible to join—membership requirements can depend on things like where you live, work, or go to school. Eligibility details come directly from each credit union and aren’t guaranteed to be accurate in all cases.
  • Rates differ by credit union. Your final rate will be shared once you are approved. Student borrowers can also apply with a creditworthy cosigner to improve their chances of approval and possibly qualify for a lower rate.

Private Student Loan Disclosures

Fixed Rate Private Education Loan

  • The interest rate is fixed for the life of the loan. Rate and credit approval are subject to the credit qualifications of the student borrower and, if applicable, a co-signer.
  • Repayment terms are selected during the application process and may vary by credit union.

Variable Rate Private Education Loan

  • The Annual Percentage Rate (APR) is subject to change after approval. The interest rate will adjust quarterly on each January 1, April 1, July 1, and October 1 (Change Date) based on the applicable index on the first business day of the month preceding the Adjustment Date (December, March, June, and September). Each credit union sets a maximum (Ceiling) and minimum (Floor) rate that limits how high or low your APR can go, regardless of Index fluctuations or applicable rate discounts. An increase in the Index may raise both your APR and your monthly payment.
  • The applicable index may vary by credit union. The Prime index for the quarter beginning October 1, 2025, is 7.50% as published in the Wall Street Journal on the first business day of September 2025. The 90-Day Average Secured Overnight Financing Rate for the quarter beginning October 1, 2025, is 4.36% as published by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York on the first business day of September 2025.
  • Current offered rates are determined by the Index, Margin, Ceiling, and Floor values in effect. Your specific interest rate, Margin, Ceiling, Floor, and credit approval are based on the credit qualifications of the student borrower and co-signer, if applicable. The Margin will be disclosed at the time your account is opened.
